PHOTOS: Success at Craft: Beer + Food event

Ok ok, it’s not north Seattle.  But I’m so proud of my friend Kim and Kendall Jones (owners at Washington Beer Blog) for putting together the amazing event last night that was Craft: Beer + Food, that I couldn’t ignore it.

The event joined 11 upscale area restaurants with 11 local microbreweries for a food & beer pairing like no other.  With Seattle Magazine as a main sponsor (check out their latest issue, all about the local beer scene), Craft sold out its 200 tickets in about a month’s time (tickets were $30).

The event was held last night at the Yacht Club on Lake Union just near the University Bridge.  Restaurants included Re:public, Ray’s Boathouse, Quinn’s, The Brave  Horse, Seatown, Italianissimo, Matt’s in the Market, Ravish on Eastlake, The Triple Door, Taste, and Trellis.  Breweries on hand were Pike, Silver City, Odin, American, Big Al, Boundary Bay, Georgetown, Port Townsend, Schooner Exact, The Ram Northgate, and Two Beers.

People ooh’d and aahh’d over the tasty combinations – like The Triple Door’s banana leaf-wrapped salmon in curry sauce, paired with The Ram’s saison.  Or Re:public’s mini BLT’s paired with Georgetown’s Roger’s Pilsner.  Me?  I like the simple things, like Trellis’s barbecued ribs with Pike’s Kilt Lifter.

The best part is, this was all an event for charity – the Just Garden Project.

Missed it this year?  Don’t worry, I have a good feeling this will be an annual event.  In the meantime, enjoy scenes from last night!
