Men, tell your women you ain’t shaving this week. It’ll be your only exception of the year! (Well, until Movember at least).
This Sunday, January 29th is the 4th Annual Beard and Stache Festival, held at The High Dive in Fremont from 1pm to 4pm. Head on over with your hairy face and get your photo taken for a good cause. The photos will be displayed on individual cans where people can donate money to Treehouse, a nonprofit organization that aids foster children around the community.
Up to 125 contestants can enter their hairy mug, and each contestant will then be grouped with four other photos so that teams of 5 are placed around the community. If the organizers don’t get enough entrants this Sunday, they’ll hold another photo shoot February 9th (but they really don’t want to have to do that). It’s all for a good cause, so braid that beard and style that stache, and get to The High Dive on Sunday.
Cans will be placed out at local establishments after the grand celebration on February 25th, and voting for the best can take place all the way through March. Voting ends April 1st with a big party at The Triple Door, where prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ‘stache winners.
Every bit of money earned from the donation cans benefits Treehouse, so you can feel good about giving!
