Green Lake’s Annual Pathway of Lights will be Saturday, December 8th from 5pm to 8pm. The event is, as always, free to the public and features a luminaria around the inner loop of the lake and live music at four stop-off locations.
Over 2500 candles light the way around the lake, placed and picked up by volunteers. Visitors are also welcome to bring glow sticks and other items that help light the night. An estimated 10,000 people attend the event each year, braving the cold for a 2.8 mile walk around the lit up lake with their neighbors.
Additionally, the event doubles as a food drive for Northwest Harvest. Last year, the Pathway of Lights raised about 500 pounds of food for Northwest Harvest. Sponsors this year include The Hearthstone, Green Lake Masonic Lodge, and Green Lake Windermere Real Estate.
