With a ” Give Aloha” theme, this years annual Benefit Auction for the University District Food Bank will be held October 6th from 5:30pm to 10pm at St Demetrios Church in Montlake.
The auction, now in its 17th year, is part of the food bank’s Take a Bite Out of Hunger campaign. A champagne preview is available from 5:30 to 6pm, with the silent auction from 6 to 7 with wine and appetizers. Dinner is served at 7pm, and the live auction begins at 7:30.
Tickets are $70 if you purchase before September 6th ($80 afterwards), and you can buy them online here. You can also purchase Patron tickets for $125, which gives you upgrade wine and other benefits.
Some of the items available to bid on include cello lessons and a stay at a Hawaiian condo, plus a hands-on cooking demo from Tom Douglas.
The food bank distributed 2.3 million pounds of food in 2011 and helped to feed over 55,000 families, with the same needs anticipated this year.
